I encourage them to research all about festivals & food. I generally find it is a lesson that they talk about and use as a frame of reference later on in the year.

Simple display for days of the week in Spanish. I have a space on the top right hand corner of my board where the day and month are switched everyday. ( I am no longer asked. 'Miss whats the date?' twenty times a day!) Enjoy:)

There are word searches, multiple choice tasks, matching exercises, online dictionary work, translations tasks, description tasks and comprehensions. This us perfect for revision and also as an accompaniment when teaching the topic. All activities can be printed and used as stand alone starters / plenaries or homework tasks:)

This 20 page booklet is an excellent revision tool for students for the topic of 'My area' in Spanish. This booklet can also be used as a means of preparing students for their written controlled assessment. The booklet contains various activities which aim to help students master the following aspects: 1. ¿Dónde vives? 2. ¿Qué hay en tu barrio? 3. Direcciones 4. Hablando de tu barrio 5. Problemas en tu barrio Each section contains a series of activities such as translation, fill in the gaps, comprehensions, matching exercises and ordering information. The final aspect of the boklet is a controlled assessment type of activity where students will produce a written piece about their area. They will be able to attempt to include the following: ¿Dónde vives exactamente? I use this resource as a revision for my KS4 groups. It is a simple PowerPoint that states the rules of the Conditional Tense in Spanish. With the PowerPoint I have attached a booklet to aid with the lesson. The booklet contains the following: - 4 activities that students can complete in lesson or as homework / revision. (Fill in the gaps x 2, translate sentence and write a paragraph) - A notes sheet on the formation of the tense - A notes sheet on the most common irregular verbs. This is a lesson I used for the first time this year and it worked really well with all my groups. (I had 6!) Included in the lesson are fact finding tasks, opportunities for student to highlight their prior knowledge and a questionnaire to endeavor to discover how students like to learn in lessons. This also asks students some information about the themselves that I use to build a rapport as the year progresses. It is a nice introduction to Spanish and you can do the lesson on computers OR as I have it laid out as a fact finding task. This is a resource to help teach the topic of prepositional pronouns in Irish. It contains a list of the most common prepositional pronouns in Irish and also two sheets with the most common phrases associated to each one. This is a revision mat for the topic of SÉIMHIÚ in Irish. The mat contains all information needed to revise this piece of grammar.

My lower ability students really struggle with these three key verbs in Spanish. To help over come this I made revision mats for each one with basic information to help consolidate their learning. When teaching 'Tener' i usually teach plurals. That features on the Tener Mat. The mat for Ser and Estar have all the typical information you would normally see. I have included the .doc files for editing and also the .pdf files for printing.

Resource contains a PowerPoint lesson for revising the Present Tense in Spanish. It can also be adapted to be used as a lesson to introduce the same topic. It contains notes on formation of the tense, a worksheet that accompanies the lesson and also a selection of note sheets. The work sheets are in .doc format to edit and rework depending on your needs and also in .pdf. This ensures that when printing, all the worksheet is printed and none of the margins are missing.

This resource contains all you need to write a letter in Spanish to Father Christmas. The first activity asks students to make a list of all the things they want for Christmas. (Have dictionaries ready for students who need some extra help). The second activity is matching exercise with all the necessary phrases that students can adapt to help them write their letter. This resource contains all the necessary displays for your Spanish classroom this Christmas. I use these as a game first to introduce the vocabulary to my students. They are placed around my room and students are given a list of Christmas vocabulary in English. They then have to find the Spanish equivalent. It's nice to watch students discover the vocabulary themselves as opposed to looking at a PowerPoint and writing everything down in a vocabulary book. I stuck this into the start of my Year 10s Spanish book this year. It's a simple list of the Themes & Topics they will study over the next two years.
